Massachusetts

The Commonwealth's rebate stack, updated.

Massachusetts is one of the most rebate-friendly states in the country. MassSave, Mass CEC, and the $25,000 HEAT Loan combine to make electrification projects surprisingly affordable: whole-home heat pump rebates up to $8,500 and 75-100% coverage of insulation work.

Your rate more than doubled in 15 years.

You paid 14.5¢ per kilowatt-hour in 2010. Today you pay 33¢. The rebates on this page exist because nobody, including your utility, expects that line to flatten out.

What a gas-to-heat-pump rebate stack actually looks like.

A 3-ton ducted heat pump (R-32, cold-climate certified) qualifies for the MassSave whole-home rebate at $2,650 per ton: $7,950 stacked toward your project. The Manual J sizing bonus adds $500 when the installer sizes to 90-120% of design heat load, and the new New England Heat Pump Accelerator contributes $650 more in 2026. The 0% APR HEAT Loan finances the install over seven years, so most MassSave projects move forward with no money down on day one.
